The Home and Away actor recently paid a visit to Junior School, sharing his valuable life experiences and discussing the importance of inner strength with hundreds of eager students.
Mia Ravening of Year 6 was one of the student representatives who introduced Mr Lewis on the day.
She says there were many valuable lessons learned from his presentation.
“Mr Lewis talked to us about determination and perseverance, and I found it really inspirational,” she says.
Mia recalls a memorable story about the time Mr Lewis visited Hollywood superstar Will Smith’s house.
“One day Mr Lewis went hiking with Will Smith and his daughter Willow,” explains Mia. “When Willow stopped and said that she couldn’t go any further – Will said to ‘just take one more step’, and she did. She went further.”
To thank Mr Lewis for his time at All Saints, students presented him with an official replica of the Indigenous artwork Our Place in Country which adorns the walls of the school’s McIntosh Administration Centre.
Mia says she will remember his key messages for a very long time, particularly as she pursues a demanding career in medicine.
“I want to be in a medical profession - I’m going to remember what Mr Lewis said, and try and study and keep on going, even though sometimes I might feel like it’s too hard,” she says.
