All Saints Anglican School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Teacher to join our vibrant school community. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to lead the School Chapel Band, working with students to deliver worship music and performance for school chapel services.
About the Position
The Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and educational music lessons for students in Years 7 to 12. This role will involve teaching a wide range of music skills, from theory and instrumental techniques to vocal performance and music appreciation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the music program, ensuring it caters to the diverse learning needs of our students.
In addition to classroom teaching, a key component of the role is leading the School Chapel Band. This involves organizing and rehearsing music for school chapel services, ensuring a blend of musical excellence and spiritual meaning. The Music Teacher will be responsible for the overall direction and performance of the Chapel Band, guiding students in their musical and spiritual growth.
Commencing immediately, this is a full-time teaching position.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver music programs that align with the school’s curriculum. These lessons will encompass a range of topics, including music theory, vocal techniques, instrumental skills, and music appreciation. The Music Teacher will differentiate their lessons to meet the diverse abilities, interests, and learning styles of students.
- Chapel Band Leadership: Lead and direct the School Chapel Band, organizing rehearsals and music for school chapel services. The Music Teacher will work closely with students to develop their musical and performance skills while fostering a meaningful connection to the worship experience.
- Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement a variety of assessment tasks to evaluate students’ progress and provide opportunities for them to demonstrate their learning. The Music Teacher will provide timely, constructive feedback to students and track their progress throughout the year.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an effective and positive learning environment by applying appropriate classroom management techniques. The Music Teacher will be expected to create a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe to participate, take risks, and excel in their learning.
- Pastoral Care: Beyond academic instruction, the Music Teacher will take responsibility for the pastoral care of students, ensuring they feel supported and encouraged in their personal growth. This includes working with other staff members to meet the individual needs of students and supporting them in both academic and social development.
- Co-Curricular Involvement: The Music Teacher will contribute to the broader life of the school by participating in co-curricular activities. This may include supporting extracurricular music programs, school performances, and other community events.
