We are seeking experienced, reliable, and highly motivated Grounds staff to join our dedicated Grounds and Facilities team. We currently have openings for both Horticulturist and Greenkeeper roles to support our busy team in maintaining and enhancing the presentation of our exceptional school grounds.
HORTICULTUIST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- General landscaping and garden maintenance.
- Performing daily horticulture tasks.
- Undertake a wide variety of landscaping projects throughout the school.
- Operation, maintenance and cleaning of tools and machinery.
- Use of chemical and biological agents.
- Following all policies, procedures and industry standards to ensure a safe environment for all students, staff and guests of the school.
The successful applicant will require:
- Previous experience in a similar position.
- Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture required.
- Class C drivers licence.
- ACDC weed spraying licence required.
- Ability to participate positively as an energetic, reliable team member with a positive attitude is essential.
- Ability to work outside of normal hours of duty, including weekend work as required.
GREENKEEPER
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of numerous sporting fields and lawns throughout the school.
- Sports turf renovations, including aerating, scarifying, top dressing and fertilising.
- Weed and disease control in various turf situations.
- Sports field mowing, line marking and maintenance.
- Field set ups depending on seasonal requirements.
- Maintenance and scheduling of irrigation systems
- Certificate III in Turf Management highly regarded.
- High level of knowledge regarding day-to-day turf management practices.
- Class C drivers licence.
- ACDC weed spraying licence highly regarded.
- Ability to participate positively as an energetic, reliable team member with a positive attitude is essential.
- Ability to work outside of normal hours of duty, including weekend work as required.
